Programme Organisation

A spiral curriculum is used to develop and extend Trainee's evolving professional practice skills over the three years of study.

We recognise that Trainees who are parents and care for children or vulnerable populations. Therefore, Trainees are provided with advanced level supervision by University Tutors and are given regular three-way meetings (Trainee, Placement Supervisor and University Tutor) to monitor progress and plan next steps in professional learning.

Academic skills are assessed through assignments, contribution to lectures and tutorials. Alongside this, trainees are required to compile a reflective professional development portfolio and engage in formal learning activities. Trainees need to pass both the practical and academic elements of the programme to progress to the next year of training.
